The manual transmission CDL program has a higher tuition because it is an extended program. The time a student needs to learn the maneuvers of shifting gears and not popping the clutch can be tricky, overwhelming and often intimidating. Safety is the most important component, so we do not want to rush the process for anyone nor convince students that automatic and manual instruction can be taught the same way, in the same timeframe. It is in the best interest of the students to take the appropriate time and hours needed to gain the most practice and confidence when mastering their CDL skills, as appropriate, in either transmission.
YES. Casual use of cell phones is not authorized during instruction time. Students will not have cell phones out while under the guidance of the instructor(s). If you are seen with your phone out, you will be asked to put it away. It is expected that students will only use their personal cell phones while taking an identified break or for emergencies. If a student is operating a motor vehicle or other heavy machinery, the student must refrain from using their cell phone until it becomes safe to do so. Failure to respect the policy may result in forfeiture of the program attendance. This is all about safety for self and others while on the training yard. Students who cannot adhere to the policy will be discharged from the program.
Respect for everyone’s time and knowledge is encouraged within the California School of Trucking LLC facility. It is important to recognize that each student is here to learn. Although everyone comes in with different levels of experience, and trucking history, the overall goal is that all students must exit with the same level of knowledge to pass the CDL Class A or B Test Standards. Let’s all work together to ensure that goal is met successfully.
At CaST we give everyone the opportunity to create a better life for themselves. Non-violent offenders are welcome but are encouraged to apply.
If you have a felony, you may qualify to have your full tuition paid. For more information, visit our Partner's website: www.joinFreeWorld.com and complete the registration information. A representative will contact you with more information about their program.
Once you pass the required courses and have a valid CDL, CA School of Trucking can help you with job placement. We want each student to succeed!
